MISSION AND VALUES
Rooted in Tradition, Driven by Impact

From its Dutch roots meaning “home" to its modern use as a symbol of resilience and purpose, HEEM reflects our mission: helping institutions fortify their core so that excellence is not just achieved but truly at home.

At HEEM Consulting, we believe higher education should embody belonging, purpose, and possibility. We partner with institutions to cultivate that “home” through sustainable solutions that align with mission, strengthen capacity, and advance impact.

HEEM is where higher education leaders find the clarity, strategy, and support they need to thrive in today’s complex landscape.

HEEM is your home for turning mission into measurable impact.

WHY I STARTED HEEM

"Academic affairs is among the most complex and demanding operations in higher education. Senior leaders are expected to manage multiple accreditations, design and advance academic programs, balance constrained budgets, and ensure student success across retention, persistence, and graduation all at the same time. For many leaders, the cumulative weight of these responsibilities is not just challenging, it is overwhelming.

HEEM Consulting is designed to bridge this gap, providing assistance, care, and calm in a quickly evolving higher education landscape."

Dr. Juline E. Mills is a nationally recognized academic leader with over two decades of experience in higher education leadership, accreditation, and strategic transformation.

A former  faculty member, department chair, faculty senate chair, dean, provost, and commissioner with the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), Dr. Mills brings deep expertise in accreditation readiness, academic infrastructure, operational effectiveness, and strategic planning.
