Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

HEEM Consulting takes a principled stance on personal information: we do not sell your personal data. We do not exchange your information with third parties for money, and we do not share your personal information for targeted advertising purposes (sometimes legally defined as “cross-context behavioral advertising”) without your consent. This section is provided to inform you of this policy and to explain how you can formally request that we never sell or share your data, in compliance with privacy laws like the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and similar U.S. state laws.

Our Policy on Selling Data: In the modern privacy landscape, a “sale” of personal information can include more than just an obvious monetary exchange, it can encompass sharing identifiers or user behavior with third parties who might use it for their own benefit (for example, an advertiser). We want to reassure you that HEEM Consulting does not engage in such practices. We do not monetize your personal information. Any personal data we collect is used only for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy (to serve you, to communicate with you, to improve our services, etc.) and, when shared with service providers, it is only to assist us in those core purposes under strict conditions.

Your Right to Opt Out: Despite our policy of not selling data, we provide an easy way for you to opt out of any potential sale or sharing of your personal information. If you prefer to have an official record of your opt-out (or simply as an extra precaution), you can exercise this right as follows:

• Website Link: Click on the “Opt Out Form” link located in the footer of our website. This will take you to an opt-out form or preference center. On that form, you may be asked to provide minimal information (such as your name, email, or browser details) so we can identify your records. Submit the form to send us your request.

• Alternate Method: If you prefer, you may also send an email to info@heemconsulting.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell Request” and include your name and the email address associated with any interactions with us. We will process that as a formal request to opt out of sale/sharing for your personal data.

Once we receive your opt-out request, we will not share your personal information going forward (unless you later provide authorization for a specific situation). If we have any third-party cookies or tracking on our site that could be construed as a “sale” or “sharing” (for example, analytics or advertising cookies), we will ensure those are disabled for your browser when you have opted out. Essentially, your preference will be recorded and respected.

Global Privacy Control (GPC): We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal, which is a browser or extension setting that automatically communicates your do-not-sell preference to websites you visit. If our site detects a GPC signal from your browser, we will treat it as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing for that browser, without requiring you to click the link or fill out a form. Please note that GPC signals are browser-specific. If you use multiple browsers or devices, you should enable GPC on each one, or separately opt out on each device.

Confirmation and Effect on Services: After you opt out, we will provide a confirmation (usually instantly on the website or via an email if you provided one). You should notice that any non-essential third-party data transfers (if any were present) cease for your browser. Opting out of the sale of your data will not negatively impact the services we provide to you. In fact, since we don’t sell data, you should not see any difference in your experience except perhaps fewer third-party cookies. We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for your data, so you are not losing out on anything by opting out (we simply mention this to be transparent; some companies have loyalty programs or discounts tied to data sharing – we do not).

Note for California Residents: If you are a California resident under age 16, we automatically do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 (per COPPA). If you are a California resident age 16 or 17, the law requires opt-in for any sale of your data, rest assured, we treat all data as opt-out by default (no sale). If that policy ever changes, we would first seek affirmative consent from teenagers (ages 16-17) before any sale, but again, we do not foresee selling data.

Service Provider and Necessary Sharing: Keep in mind that opting out of “sale” does not stop all data transfers, because certain transfers are not considered “sales” or “sharing” under the law. For example, if you fill out our contact form, we will send that information to our internal email system to respond to you, that’s a service provider process, not a sale. We may also share your data with a cloud storage provider for backup or with an event partner at your direction; these are not “sales” in the legal sense because they are used only to fulfill our services to you. Even after you opt out, we will continue to use and share your data in such service-related ways as necessary (as outlined in our Privacy Policy). The opt-out specifically targets any exchange of data with third parties for marketing or monetization purposes, which we don’t do. We just want to clarify that your opt-out doesn’t mean your data will never move, it means it won’t be sold or shared for unrelated third-party use.

Browser Cookies and Opt-Out Maintenance: If your opt-out of sale/sharing is implemented via a cookie-based mechanism (for instance, some opt-out forms might drop a cookie to remember your preference), please be aware that if you clear your cookies, that preference might be lost. In such case, you would need to opt out again, or ensure you have GPC enabled so that the signal is continuously sent. We recommend using the GPC or our form on each device/browser you use for a comprehensive opt-out.

Questions or Issues: If you have any questions about the do-not-sell or do-not-share process, or if you believe your opt-out request has not been properly honored, please contact us at info@heemconsulting.com. We will investigate and ensure that your preferences are correctly implemented.

In summary, HEEM Consulting does not sell personal information, and we provide this mechanism to give you peace of mind and control. By clicking the “Do Not Sell or Share” link or enabling GPC, you can rest assured that your data will not be used in any way that could be construed as a sale or unauthorized sharing for targeted advertising. We support the spirit of privacy laws and are happy to comply with your directives.

(Thank you for trusting us with your information. We remain committed to handling it with care and integrity.)
